The President’s Frontier Award was originally established with a gift from trustee Louis J Forster, A&S ’82, SAIS ’83. Established in 2015 with Lou’s inspired investment, the President's Frontier Award enables us to invest in extraordinary faculty poised to make field-defining contributions. In today’s challenging research environment, philanthropic support like this plays a critical role in sustaining the people and ideas that drive discovery at Johns Hopkins. The award recognizes one person each year with $300,000 in funding for their work. Top finalists are also recognized with substantial funding.
